AMBITIONS FOR 2026 – FORGIVE MORE

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.”Psalm 32:1

“Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.”Proverbs 17:9

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone…”Mark 11:25

“Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”Luke 6:37

To understand salvation, I must first understand forgiveness. Scripture shows me again and again that God does not withhold forgiveness from me. When I truly grasp how fully and freely God forgives my sins, I begin to understand why I am called to forgive those who sin against me.

When I have offended someone, I may not always recognize the depth of what I have done. But even when I fail to see it clearly, the hurt is real. Relational wounds can quietly grow, and if I do nothing, they can separate close friends.

I do not want separation; I desire love. Love begins with humility. I seek love by repenting, by acknowledging my wrong, and by asking for forgiveness. When forgiveness is met with the same desire for love, restoration follows, and both hearts are blessed.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

Forgiveness is the first step toward deeper relationships. When I forgive because I have been forgiven, I begin to understand accountability. From accountability grows intimacy, first with God, and then with others.

As I walk this path, gratitude begins to shape my heart. I learn humility. My faith grows. I realize more clearly that this life is not about me; this life is all about Jesus.

My deepest desire becomes an eternal relationship with Him. Jesus patiently leads me through sanctification, teaching me how to love as He loves. I live for Jesus, and through Jesus, I learn how to love others well.

Reflection: Is there someone I need to forgive today?  Is there someone whose offense I have been holding onto, revisiting, or replaying in my heart? Is there someone I need to seek out because I may have caused hurt, whether intentionally or unintentionally?

As I prepare to pray, I pause and remember how much I have been forgiven. I ask the Lord to reveal any bitterness, pride, or fear that keeps me from extending grace. I choose to release what I have been carrying, trusting that forgiveness is not weakness, but obedience, which leads to freedom.

Lord, thank You for loving me so completely that I can learn how to love others. Help me to understand the depth of Your forgiveness, so that I may forgive more freely and more fully. Shape my heart to be like Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
