I AM CALLED TO LISTEN
The Mighty One, God the Lord, has spoken and called the earth, from the rising of the sun to its going down. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people: “Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge. Selah. “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God! Psalm 50:1-7
When the Mighty One speaks, I must listen. Day by day, from sunrise to sunset, His voice goes out across the earth, declaring His rule and His majesty. From His holy dwelling He shines forth His perfection of beauty and the brilliance of His holiness.
Our God does not remain silent, and we can expect Him to speak. He reveals Himself in the fire and the storm. He calls to the heavens and the earth, for He alone is Judge of all.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
God is calling me make a covenant to listen to Him. His covenant is sealed with a sacrifice: the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
He gathers those who have accepted this covenant to Himself and calls them to be separate from the world around them. God is the Judge of the world and separates those whom He has called to join Him. The heavens declare His righteousness and the rising of the sun proclaims His presence and His glory.
Lord, help me to still my heart and listen while You speak. You are God—my God! Thank You for drawing me into covenant with You through the sacrifice of Jesus. Teach me to live set apart for You, to walk in Your light and to proclaim Your righteousness. I desire to live for You forever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
