LORD, INCREASE MY FAITH

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:1,6
What is the evidence that my faith in Jesus is real?
The Foundation of My Faith Is Who Jesus Christ Is
The prophets foretold that Jesus would come, and the Scriptures reveal how every promise finds its fulfillment in Him (Luke 24:27, 44). The Bible testifies that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him I have life in His name (John 20:30–31).
Jesus was crucified for my sins. He died, was buried, and rose again. After His resurrection, He presented Himself alive to His disciples and gave them many convincing proofs that He had conquered death (Acts 1:1–3).
Jesus also sent the Holy Spirit to live within me, teach me, remind me of His Word, and guide me into truth (John 14:26).
Because Christ is risen, my faith is not empty. My hope is not built upon a religion, a philosophy, or wishful thinking. My faith is built upon Jesus Christ, my living Savior (1 Corinthians 15:14–20).
The Evidence of My Faith Is Also Revealed in How I Live
The power of my faith is not found in my strength. It is found in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 3:13–16).
I am justified by faith in Jesus, not by anything I can accomplish on my own (Galatians 2:16). I have been crucified with Christ, and Christ now lives in me. The life I live today, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).
As Jesus lives in me, my desires begin to change. I no longer want to live only for myself. I want to live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ (Philippians 1:27).
Faith Is the Cornerstone of My Life
Before Peter tells me to add virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love to my faith, he begins with faith.
Why? Because without faith, I cannot truly know God, follow God, or please God. Every part of the life God is building within me must rest upon my faith in Jesus Christ.
Faith is confidence in who God is. Faith is assurance that His Word is true, even when I cannot yet see what He is doing.
Faith says God will guide me. God will keep me. God will complete what He has begun in me. God’s promises are greater than my fears.
The world tells me to trust only what I can see. Jesus teaches me to trust Him, especially when I cannot see the way ahead.
Psalm 62:1 reminds me: “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him.”
Faith Changes Where I Place My Hope
I do not have to place my confidence in money, people, accomplishments, circumstances, or my ability to control what happens next. My confidence can rest in Jesus alone.
Through Faith I Believe the Bible.
Through Faith I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again.
Through Faith I believe the Holy Spirit is living within me, teaching me and guiding me today.
Through Faith I believe that God is continually working in me, even when I cannot see Him working.
FAITH IS ABOUT TRUSTING GOD
My abundant life does not begin when all my problems disappear. It begins when I stop placing my confidence in myself and place my confidence in Jesus.
The more I trust Him, the more I learn to rest in Him. The more I rest in Him, the more His life becomes visible in me.
Faith does not mean that I understand everything God is doing. Faith means that I trust who God is.
Jesus is alive. Jesus is present. Jesus is faithful.
When I cannot see the way forward, I can still place my hand in His.
REFLECT
1. Who or what am I trusting most right now?
2. What fear, circumstance, or uncertainty do I need to surrender to Jesus today?
3. Am I confident that God is guiding my life, even when I cannot see where He is leading me?
PRAYER
Father, thank You for giving me faith through Your Son, Jesus Christ. My prayer today is: increase my faith! Teach me to trust You more than my fears, more than my understanding, and more than my circumstances! When I cannot see what You are doing, help me remember who You are.
Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again. You are my living Savior! Teach me to place my confidence in You alone and to live each day by faith in You.
Holy Spirit, continue teaching me, guiding me, and reminding me of God’s truth. Build within me a faith that is confident, obedient, and alive!
May the way I live reveal that my hope rests in Jesus.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for this daily reminder.
