MY NEW JOB: I AM NO LONGER SICK AND TIRED (Monday)

Matthew 9:20-22

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

Every day for twelve long years, this woman arose heavy-hearted. The pain was so nauseating that she could barely stand it. Her blood had been flowing for all these years, and nothing would stop it. She couldn’t afford to go to the doctor anymore; she had used all her money trying to cure this seemingly incurable problem. Her gait was slow, and her posture bent; she agonized and prayed for a reprieve from this agony.

Then she heard about Him. He had cured others, why not her? She believed immediately in her heart that He could cure her even if no one else could. She ducked her way through the crowd. She knelt and reached out toward Jesus’ feet just in time to catch the hem of His garment as He passed. Instantly she felt His power move through her, and all her pain was instantly relieved.

Jesus proclaimed her well, not because of her touch, but because of her faith. Choosing Jesus as the Divine Healer of her pain gave her the confidence to go forth and continue to trust Him for the rest of her life. Yesterday she was a lonely, tired, and sick woman without hope. Today her testimony shone brightly as she stood erect. No longer feeling pain, her smile brightened any room. Yesterday she could only speak of her pain; today she spoke only of Jesus’ power.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: Am I able to relate to this woman? Am I tired of being sick and tired? There is One who can heal not only my body, but He can heal my heart also. This woman didn’t just have a physical condition, she had a heart condition, which was healed the moment she believed.

Am I ready to be transformed? This woman was transformed before she was healed—the moment she believed. Transformation isn’t about achieving my desires; it is about acting on God’s desires for me. I must be able to submit to God’s will and God’s timeline, even if it takes twelve long years.

Lord, today I proclaim my belief in You; today I put all my trust and all my hope in You.

I know You have the power to heal my heart today.

It doesn’t matter if I continue in my physical condition or not, Your love is the medicine I need now.
