Hi everyone!

Today marks the final day of Advent and the conclusion of our Advent devotionals. It has truly been a joy and a privilege to share this season with you. As always, I will continue sending my weekly devotionals to all who remain subscribed. Thank you for allowing me to walk alongside you in this journey of faith.

Blessings,

DAY 25: THE PURPOSE OF HIS COMING: God’s Gift of Love

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16–17

All the promises, prophecies, and songs of hope find their fulfillment in the love of God expressed through His Son. The manger, the cross, and the empty tomb all tell the same story: God so loved the world.

Christmas is not simply the story of a baby’s birth; it is the story of divine rescue. From the beginning, God’s plan was love in action. He did not send an angel or a prophet to fix what sin had broken, He came Himself. Jesus did not come to condemn but to save, stepping into our darkness to bring eternal light.

John’s words remind us that salvation is both universal and personal. “Whoever believes in Him” means no one is beyond the reach of grace. God’s love is wide enough to embrace the whole world and yet intimate enough to call each of us by name. The gift of Christ is freely given, but it calls for a response: faith that receives and trust that follows.

Christmas morning shines with this truth: God’s love is not distant or abstract; it is real, sacrificial, and eternal. The One who created the stars became a child so that we might become children of God. Love Himself entered His creation so that we could share eternity with Him.

The purpose of Christmas is not merely celebration but transformation. To know that God so loved the world is to live as one who has been loved and to love others in return.

Reflect:

  • Have I received the gift of God’s love through Jesus Christ?

  • How can I share His saving love with others today?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest gift: Your Son, Jesus Christ. Because of Your love, I have hope, forgiveness, and eternal life. Let Your love fill my heart and overflow to those around me. On this Christmas Eve, I worship You for Your mercy, grace, and everlasting love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
