THURSDAY: Jesus Brings the Father to You

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father

except through me. John 14:6

Many people claim that Jesus being the only way to God is too exclusive. People are so different from each other. They have different experiences and different perspectives and grow up in different cultures. So, how can there be only one way to God?

But what if there were a thousand different ways to God? How would you ever know if your way will get you there? It would be like driving around without a map, just hoping that the road you’re on will take you where you want to go. The scenery might be beautiful, and the journey might be delightful but it’s possible that you’ll never reach the destination you set out to reach. Or like driving around with a map that’s difficult to read, so you frequently make wrong turns, and you live with the fear that you’re not on the right path and that you’re going to run out of gas before you find it.

But God’s plan is simple and clear. Jesus is the way, and He is available to anyone and everyone, regardless of your culture or experiences or perspective. No one is left out. You won’t need to worry about whether or not you’ve earned heaven. You won’t be left wondering and fervently hoping that you’ll reach your destination. You’ve reached your destination because Jesus brings the Father to you.
