Hi Everyone!

This week, I am exploring what God says about Walking with Him. As I enter prayer now, I reflect on God’s instruction from Colossians 2:6: Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
Lord, teach me today about walking with You.
I desire to learn how to clear distractions away
so I can hear You clearly as You lead me.
Let me consider the Word of God from Luke 24:13-16; 28-31:
That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them. When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight.
Jesus has the power to show up at any place and any time. He can also withhold our sight, so we don’t recognize Him. In this instance, He was walking with these two men, and even though they knew intimately the details of His crucifixion and resurrection, they did not know Jesus was among them.
What a sight that must have been when their eyes were finally opened! Like scales falling from their eyes, so Jesus can grant sight to the unseeing in the blink of an eye.
When their eyes were opened, they recognized Jesus for Who He was: their risen Savior, walking among them, talking with them and even eating with them.
How is it possible for me not recognize Jesus? Yet I do it all the time. He is constantly at work in and around me, yet I am blinded by all the events of the world, and I don’t recognize Him or what He has done.
Lord, help me to see You clearly as you walk with me! Wherever I walk, you are beside me guiding me.
Jesus comes to those to whom He wishes to reveal Himself. Initially spiritually blind and without ability to recognize Him, the disciples walk with Jesus, and He slowly changes their lives. Then, at just the right time, He reveals who He is, leaving me in a trail of my tears as I plead forgiveness for my sins.
Though I walk through the storms of this life, I am not alone. Jesus walks in front, clearing the path. Jesus walks beside me, comforting me in my anxiety and turmoil. Jesus is also behind me, serving as my rear guard keeping me from the attacks of the enemy.
Lord, through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come. Your grace has brought me safe thus far, and Your grace will lead me home to You.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
