TUESDAY: RECIPE FOR WISDOM

Proverbs 8:12-19

12 “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. 13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. 14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. 15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth. 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.

If I’m looking for wisdom, I only need to find prudence, and I will find wisdom dwelling there also. If I’m looking for wisdom, I can find it in the wake of knowledge and discretion.

Where I won’t find wisdom is among evil, pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Wisdom resides with fearing the Lord, and provides sound counsel and judgment, insight and power.

By wisdom kings reign and rulers issue just decrees; by wisdom princes and nobles govern and rule the earth.

Wisdom loves those who love wisdom, and whoever seeks wisdom does find the wisdom they seek.

With wisdom comes peace; its fruit is better than fine gold and choice silver.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

In the midst of the calamities of life, wisdom seems like a hard thing to track down. However, if I’m really seeking wisdom from God, then I will seek HIM, and He will give me the wisdom I seek.

True wisdom comes from God, because God is Truth. I don’t want to get so busy that I forget to seek God, because if I do, I will miss out on wisdom altogether.

I desire the wisdom that only God can provide, so I can share it with others.

Lord, thank You for giving me Your wisdom whenever I seek You. Please don’t let me forget to seek You often, so I can find You always. Amen.
