WEDNESDAY: THANKSGIVING HOPE

2 Cor. 4:13-18
It is written: “I believed; therefore, I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
This passage gives witness to the Trinity of God…The Holy Spirit gives us a spirit of faith, by which we believe that Jesus has been raised by the Father, who will also raise us with Jesus and present us to Himself.
God has done all this and will do all this for your benefit, so God’s grace may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
Because of this thanksgiving flowing from my heart, I do not lose heart when I see myself outwardly wasting away because inwardly, the Holy Spirit renews me day by day.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
If I worried about every little thing, then every little thing would consume me, and I would be a nervous wreck. I don’t lose heart because momentary troubles achieve an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
One of the greatest truths I can realize is that this life is temporary. It is easy to get caught up in it and struggle through it because it is here and now, and I can see it. However, this temporary life is nothing compared with my life that is eternal. The eternal life is unseen but is much more impactful and much more filing than the temporary one.
What I may not realize is that my eternal life with Christ doesn’t begin when I die; it begins when I believe in Jesus as my Savior. The power He gives renews me and transforms me. This same power helps me see beyond this life and understand eternity from God’s perspective. Now I can be thankful forever!
Lord, thank You for allowing me to partake in the eternal life that You have given me. Allow me to share You with others, so they can be transformed also! Amen.
May you be blessed,
