Isaiah 12:1-6
In that day you will say: “I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
I have many things to praise the Lord for. He was angry at my sin, and His anger has turned away; He has comforted me.
Now I know God is my salvation. When the world closes in around me, I will trust in the Lord. When I am worried, I will not be afraid.
I need to remember that the Lord Himself is my strength and my defense. Indeed, He is my salvation. When I need saving, I have a Savior. My Savior lives inside me and fills me with His strength.
The Savior’s well of salvation yields Living Water; have I filled my soul with His Water today?
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
On that day that I fill my soul with His Living Water, I will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted.”
When I’m filled with Living Water, I will want to praise His name. The reverse is also true: when I praise His name, I will be filled with Living Water.
Whenever I’m afraid or worried, all I have to do is sing to the Lord and remember the glorious things He has done. When I proclaim this to the world, I realize that the Holy One is here—He is dwelling in my heart.
All day long I praise the Lord at every opportunity. While driving to work, while I’m between assignments, when I’m on my lunch break…I have a lot of opportunities to praise Him and thank Him for all He has done for me.
Lord, thank You for all that You have done for me. I praise Your name forever. Please allow me to be filled with Living Water today. Amen.
May you be blessed,
