FRIDAY: BE STRENGTHENED!

Lord, I feel so weak today. Please help me feel strengthened and encouraged by You and by Your Word today.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
I’m very thankful God chose me for salvation, for sanctification, for belief in the truth, and to share in His glory. I don’t like to think about the alternative.
Without God doing all these things, I would not only be lost and confused, but I would be headed to hell. I want to display my thanksgiving to God, so He knows I am truly thankful.
God owns the entire process. God chose me to be saved. He knows me inside out. He knows my future before I live it and knows what lies ahead for me. God also owns my sanctification, the daily process of molding me into the image of His Son. He feeds me the truth when I need Someone to believe in. He has calls me to this through the gospel, so that I might share in the glory of Jesus Christ.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: What is my response to all the Lord has done for me? This passage tells me how I should respond:
· Stand firm and hold fast to the teachings of Christ. God left me an instruction book (the Bible), so I have truth that I can rely on. If I believe and obey what I read, I will stand firm in His teaching. I will also cling to it and not let go.
· Be encouraged with eternal hope. This eternal hope gives me an eternal perspective which allows me to navigate trials in this life.
· Be strengthened with eternal encouragement in every good deed and word. The things the Lord gives me to do and say build my faith even more.
Lord, thank You for saving me and molding me into the image of Jesus. I desire to follow You and experience a life-change through Your amazing grace.
