FRIDAY: EXCITED WITH ANTICIPATION

Lord, I want to be excited about today because You are at work in my life. Please stir my heart with excitement with anticipation for what You are about to do.
Deuteronomy 11:8-12
Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, and so that you may live long in the land the Lord swore to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
The Strength of the Lord is given to me in the form of courage and confidence in Him. If I have confidence in myself alone, I will fail. If I have confidence that the Lord will work through me, He will lead me to places I have never been before.
The commands of the Lord are linked to the strength of God and living long for God. If I follow God’s commands early in life, I will live more of my life for the Lord. If I follow God’s commands with faith, His Word has stronger influence in my life.
God’s vision for my life is more incredible than I can even imagine. He leads me to the places I can drink rain from heaven; God’s blessings continue to flow abundantly. In those places Gods care for me; the eyes of the Lord my God are continually on me.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: I will fear what tomorrow brings if I do not follow the Lord today. But I will be excited with anticipation of tomorrow if I follow all the commands God gives me today.
I can’t help but think of how excited I will be when the Lord fulfills His promises in my life. I must remember that I can get in my own way, though. Like the Israelites, I need to quit complaining about today because the circumstances of today are giving me strength for tomorrow.
I also need to quit being distracted by the world today; otherwise, I will begin to doubt God’s purpose for me tomorrow. This will cause me to worry and sweat. When I believe in God’s promises, my faith increases; when I don’t, I worry the most. Lord, please cleanse me from doubt in my heart and mind and help me focus only on You and Your promises. Also, help me realize that my current circumstances give me strength for tomorrow!
May you be blessed,
