FRIDAY: GAINING STRENGTH IN WAITING

Psalm 27:7-14

Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.

Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations.

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

I’ve been frantically calling the Lord, begging for His answer. I’m not sure why He has turned me away and hid His face from me.

My heart says to seek His face, so I go to His house to rejoice. As I rejoice, I feel my spirit lift within me. He has not rejected or forsaken me…He has received me. He waited longingly for me to acknowledge Him as my Lord and Savior, and now I praise and worship Him alone.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

Now that I understand how to seek Him, it is my turn to listen as He teaches me His way. His way is a straight path to Him every day…I will seek Him every day because of my oppressors.

He will not turn me over to the desire of my foes—for this I will continually praise Him. I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord.

I see His goodness by being strong, taking heart, and waiting for Him.

Being strong—I gain strength in courage by seeking Him daily.

Taking heart—From His strength, I gain determination to do His will.

Waiting for Him—I expect to hear from the Lord when I call, but He desires to teach me patience in the process.

Lord, thank You for allowing me to praise You, so I can hear from You. Please make my heart strong in anticipation of hearing Your direction for me. Amen.
