FRIDAY: GOD IS MY JUDGE

Psalm 43

Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

God is my Judge, jury, and defense attorney. He is the only One who can plead my cause because of His mercy and sacrifice and judge me at the same time. The one who pursues me is deceitful and unjust. I plead mercy from the Divine One who is my Judge.

He is the God of my strength. While I am persecuted, I go into mourning because of the oppression of the enemy. God does not cast me off; He sends out His light and His truth. Through His light and truth, He leads me to His presence in His tabernacle for worship and comfort with Him.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

I can’t help but think of the state I let my heart fall into. My head sinks in despair, as I look down, and I am filled with anguish and regret. Sometimes my soul is disquieted within me, and I feel cast down. I am filled with fear and hopelessness.

It doesn’t take me long to discover that God’s tabernacle is where He dwells—He is in my heart. If His tabernacle is in my heart, and He dwells there, then that makes my body His temple where His Holy Presence dwells. Because of this realization, I am exceedingly joyful, and I lift up praise to my God.

Lord, I now realize Who You are; I am Your child, and I hope in You.

I praise You as You lift my countenance, and I look up to You. Amen.
