I AM CALLED TO LISTEN (Thursday)

Psalm 50:1-7

The Mighty One, God the Lord, has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth,

that He may judge His people:

“Gather My saints together to Me,

Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge. Selah

“Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God!

When the Mighty One speaks, I want to listen. God the Lord is continually calling the earth through the rising of the sun until it goes down. God shines forth out of His heavenly dwelling and illuminates His perfection of beauty.

We can expect God to come each day, and we can expect Him to speak—My God will not keep silent. He shows Himself in the fire and in the storm. He calls to the heavens and to the earth, so that He may judge His people.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

God is calling me to listen—He wants me to make a covenant with Him. His covenant is sealed with a sacrifice—not one that I provide, but One that He has already provided. The sacrifice which seals my covenant is the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.

He gathers His saints—those who have made this covenant—together to Himself and calls them to be separate from the world around them. God Himself is Judge of the world and separates those whom He has called to join Him.

Let the heavens declare His righteousness—the rising of the sun proclaims His presence.

Lord, help me to listen and hear Your voice. You are God—my God! Thank You for calling me to be separate from the world. I desire to live for You forever! Amen.
