I CONFESS YOU SAVED ME FROM DARKNESS

This week, I am exploring what God says about CONFESSION.  As I enter prayer now, I reflect on God’s instruction, “’I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.’ And You forgave the guilt of my sin.”

Lord, teach me today about confession.  I want to be obedient to the grace You give to me, so my heart can be full of Your Holy Spirit.

Let me consider the Word of God from John 3:16-21:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

It’s amazing for me to know how much God loves me!  He knew the life I was leading was leading me away from Him.

I once lived in darkness; I was alone and afraid my deeds would be exposed.  Jesus came and shone His glorious light into my life, leading me to see the world through His eyes.

Lord, thank You for shining Your light into my life and making my world brighter!

The confession I must make is that before Jesus Christ came into my life, I was lost, confused and not living by the truth.  Jesus found me and showed me that He is the Truth.

It is only through Jesus that I have eternal life.  Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Lord, thank You for loving me and for loving the world that much.  Thank You for saving me from my sins and allowing me to see that You are the Light and You are the Truth!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
