JESUS WALKS WITH ME WHEN I’M SUFFERING

This week, I am exploring what God says about Walking with Him. As I enter prayer now, I reflect on God’s instruction from Colossians 2:6: Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
Lord, teach me today about walking with You.
I desire to learn how to clear distractions away
so I can hear You clearly as You lead me.
Let me consider the Word of God from John 11:28-37:
After she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. “The Teacher is here,” she said, “and is asking for you.” When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there. When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”
Mary needed someone in her time of grief. She needed her Savior. When Jesus saw her weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
Even though Jesus knew what He was about to do, His dear friend and follower was troubled. Because of her grief, He was also troubled and and wept with her.
Lord, thank You for comforting me when I am troubled. Your presence blesses me.
Jesus performs miracles today. He raised Lazarus from the dead, but also comforted Mary in her grief.
When I encounter trouble and grief in my life, I know Jesus is walking with me to comfort and bless me when it does.
Lord, thank You for walking with me while I’m suffering from the trouble and grief this life brings. Thank You for showing me You care and help me as I walk through this experience. In Jesus Name, Amen.
