Monday: AM I TRAPPED?

PROVERBS 11:1-6

The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.  The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.  The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

If I see pride coming, disgrace will be right behind me. However, wisdom and humility are with each other—they are walking together.

If I’m upright, then I’ll be guided by integrity—it will serve as a light before me, protecting me from what is unseen. I can expect to be destroyed if I’m deceitful and double-minded.

On the Day of the Lord, wealth will be worthless; however, righteousness will deliver me from death.

If I want to walk in a straight path, then I will desire a blameless life, which will lead to a life of righteousness.

Deliverance comes with the righteousness of the upright, while the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

To be trapped is a undesirable state of life. It means I can’t move. It means I am in a situation that I don’t want to be in but can’t escape from. To be trapped is to be helpless. There is One who desires to deliver me from entrapment. He came to save me; He came to show me the way out of darkness and into the light.

His presence doesn’t change my atmosphere or surroundings; His presence changes my heart so I can see the world through His eyes. He is stronger and more powerful than any trap or cage. His name is Jesus.

Lord, thank You for continuing to walk through this life with me. I can’t walk through this life alone. Amen.
