MONDAY: I AM VALUED

Lord, please let me know how I can be of value to You in Your Kingdom. I desire to know that I have a purpose because Jesus is working in my life.

2 Thessalonians 1:3-7a

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well.

I thank God for growing my faith in Him. How can I tell? Because He is growing my love for others. When I love others more, my faith grows. When I love Him more, I love others more also.

Two outcomes take place when my love grows. Both of these directly affect how I perceive myself in the Kingdom of God, and both show I am valued in His Kingdom.

God directs me and gives me value. When I see the evidence that God’s judgment is right, because of my perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials I am enduring, then I know I am counted worthy of the kingdom of God. I have been suffering for the Kingdom, and I feel love when I receive the Lord’s personal direction.

God delivers me and gives me value. I know God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble me. He will also give me relief because I am troubled. God personally cares for me and my needs.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: Since I am His child and called to be constantly thankful for Him, God will attend to my needs and my battles. God’s ways are not my ways, so circumstances will probably turn out differently than I had planned. God blesses me when I give Him the glory for His intervention in my life and shows where He has been working all along.

Why do I fret and worry when God is working for my good? I worry when I trust mankind instead of Him. When mankind lets me down, I blame them and feel I have nowhere else to turn. Nothing could be further from the truth, for God is always with me.

Lord, when the going gets tough, I need to step away from the situation, get perspective, and trust as I turn it over to You, the One who I know loves me. During these times, please listen while I ask for a refill on love, hope, and peace in my life.

May you be blessed,
