MONDAY: Praise the Lord

Praise the Lord, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth. For his unfailing love for us is powerful; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord! Psalm 117

We’re often moved to offer up a “Praise the Lord!” when He meets a need or answers a prayer the way we hoped He would. When, as an old hymn says, there are “showers of blessings,” we share the good news with those around us and praise His goodness.

But this psalm calls us to consider that His love is unfailing and praise Him for that. His love is powerful, powerful enough to conquer death, so praise Him for that. He is forever faithful, so give Him thanks and praise.

We can praise Him when we open our eyes in the morning and when we close them again at night because for every minute in between, He was and is and will continue to be loving, powerful and faithful.

May His unfailing love and faithfulness be for you a source of peace, hope, and joy day by day.
