REPENTANCE MEANS I AM RECONCILED TO GOD

This week, I am exploring what God says about REPENTANCE. As I enter prayer now, I reflect on God’s instruction: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

Lord, I repent of my sin and am blessed by Your forgiveness.

Thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life.

Let us consider the Word of the Lord from Romans 5:6-11:

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Time makes the world go ‘round.  I’m lost without my calendar and my watch.  However, God has perfect timing, which means I don’t have to worry about the time I set for myself.

On my timetable I am powerless. On God’s timetable, while I was still a sinner and ungodly, He sent Jesus to die for me.

Why would God do such a thing?  We are His creation, and He loves us so much.  When I realize that, I stop making plans for myself, and start listening to the plans that God has made for me.

Lord, I repent of trying to lead my own life.  I repent and pray for forgiveness.  Thank You for

receiving me unto Yourself.

To not be reconciled means to be apart—to be separated.  When I realize that my entire life and existence was doomed because I was not reconciled to God, I begin to cry.

It’s only by the grace of God that I’m running to Him instead of running away from Him.  I desire for Him to lead me through life and for me to proclaim His works to everyone I meet.

Lord, thank You for leading me through life and forgiving my sins.  I pray that You will continue to be the Guiding Light that shines in my heart.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
