1 Thessalonians 5:16–24
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
These are not suggestions—they are God’s will for me in Christ Jesus.
If I lose sight of these, I risk quenching the Spirit. Worry, anger, or selfishness can crowd out joy and block the blessings God wants to pour into my life.
But when I choose joy, prayer, and gratitude, the Holy Spirit fills me with peace. God sanctifies me, making me more like Jesus day by day.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
I don’t always rejoice. I don’t always give thanks. Yet God’s patience toward me never runs out. His grace gently pulls me back to the path of peace and renewal.
When I let His will guide me, my heart is washed clean and filled again with comfort, hope, and love.
God of peace, thank You for calling me to a life of rejoicing, prayer, and gratitude. Sanctify me through and through, that I may remain blameless and faithful until Christ returns. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
