THURSDAY: LIVING WITHOUT THE LAW

Lord, some people in this world live without a moral compass of right and wrong. Please guide me by Your spiritual compass, so I can know I’m fulfilling Your will.
2 Thessalonians 2:5-12
Don’t you remember that when I was with you, I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
When Christ is revealed, everyone will see Him in all His glory. Even with the splendor of His coming, some will refuse to love the truth and will serve the lie. They are the ones who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
Lawlessness provides a framework of understanding a culture that lives without standards. What if there were no moral absolutes and everyone decided what their version of the truth was by their own interpretation of right and wrong? Perhaps society today is not too far from this.
I have been called to live by a different set of rules. Not only is there absolute truth, but God wrote it in His Book for me to read and understand.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: I observe all sorts of displays of power that serve the lie. Many people speak against the things of God without knowing or understanding the implications of what they are doing or saying. They have one thing in common: they believe a powerful delusion and refuse to believe the truth.
A time will come when a leader (the lawless one) will rise up and promote these lies as truth. I must be ready and prepared, so I am not deceived as well. I don’t have to worry, as God promises Jesus will overthrow this leader with the breath of His mouth. Lord, please protect me from the lies which surround me in this world. I want to live under Your law and obey Your truth. Help keep me focused, so I will always know the difference between Your truth and the lies of this world.
May you be blessed,
