Isaiah 55:3-5

3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you—the sure mercies of David. 4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, a leader and commander for the people. 5 Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.”

This message is about hearing from the Lord. In order to hear what the Lord has to say to me, I need to incline my ear and listen intently. Do I take time to listen to the Lord?

If I hear from the Lord, He tells me my soul shall live—that means forever, because He has made a covenant (promise) that lasts forever. God doesn’t break His promises.

There is going to be people God asks me to call that I do not know, and I may not even know why I am calling on them. There is going to be other people that God is going to send running to me, because the Lord has given me a message for them. Wherever I go, I am called to serve others, not always knowing why, but knowing the Lord has orchestrated all of these things to bring glory to Himself.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

One day, when I am in heaven, I will receive a glorified body. This is just one of the rewards for knowing Jesus and serving Him. Heaven is going to be so much different than this earth. Instead of worrying about provisions for survival, I will be focused on praising and serving the Lord.

Jesus states in Matthew 6 that I don’t have a reason to worry about earthly things. If I just focus on Him, He will provide all that I need. In Luke 9, Jesus sent out His disciples two by two. He told them not to worry about provisions; their focus was to be on proclaiming the Kingdom and healing others.

I know that when I incline my hear and listen to the instruction from the Lord, that His Word is consistent with these passages. His covenant lasts forever, and I only need to focus on what He has given me to do today.

For all the things I want to do today, let me prioritize by doing what God has called me to do first. When I put Jesus first, everything else will follow. He will guide and direct my thoughts and my heart as He has always done before.

Lord, thank You for providing for all of my needs. Help me to seek You first in all that I do and allow me to always keep my focus on You. Amen.

May you be blessed,
