Tuesday: WHAT GOD ENJOYS

Lord, when I know someone well, I know what they enjoy. What do You enjoy? Please tell me, so I can join with You in the things You enjoy.

1 Chronicles 16:7-14 (also Psalm 105:1-7) That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the Lord in this manner: Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Israel, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob. He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

In this passage, I find the many things God enjoys when I give Him praise:

Give praise to the Lord by proclaiming His Name. By the Name of the Lord, we are blessed. When I recite the many names of God, He is overjoyed! Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, and Lord of Lords—I praise Your Name!

Sing praise to the Lord telling of His wonderful acts. This allows others to hear what He has done. When I share what God has done in my life, it reminds me how He has changed my life. When I share Your acts, You are praised!

Glory and rejoice in His holy Name. The Lord wants to hear us rejoicing over who He is. Lord, You are my Father, my Creator, my Redeemer, and my Savior! Thank You for Who You are!

Look to the Lord and seek His face because He is holy and almighty. The Lord is blessed when I take time out of my day to simply be with Him. Lord, I look to You and I seek Your face.

Remember the wonders and miracles He has done, so I can continually offer Him thanksgiving. I should never forget His miracles, both in the Bible, in my life, and in the lives of many around me. Lord, thank You for Your miracles! You are worthy to be praised!

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: It is through the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that I am saved. He is the Righteous One who left heaven to die for me and rose again triumphant over sin, so I could have eternal life.

Lord, I give praise to You for Your Name, for Your righteous acts, for Your miracles, and for everything You have done and continue to do in my life. Praise be to Your Name!

May you be blessed, Chaplain Wayne Ruckman
