WAITING EXPECTANTLY

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3).
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD (Psalm 27:14).
We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield (Psalm 33:20).
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes (Psalm 37:7).
LORD, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God (Psalm 38:15).
Of all the things I endure in this life, I don’t like to wait. It’s so hard to wait, as I always feel that I must be doing something while I’m waiting. Well, apparently there is!
When I wait, I hear His voice and expect Him to answer.
When I wait, my heart is strengthened and my courage builds.
When I wait, I look to God for hope; He is my help and protection.
When I wait, I learn to be patient with others.
When I wait, I learn that God is watching over me with His perfect timing.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
When I wait for the Lord, I am not waiting for an answer to my prayers. Perhaps I think I am, but really, I’m waiting for the Lord.
My waiting has more to do with me being refreshed enough to hear from God and to receive His perspective on any given situation. I desire to be more patient, and waiting to meet the Lord will build my patience! Waiting will also teach me not to fret when people succeed in carrying out wicked schemes. Fretting has never helped me before, and I know the wicked will have their downfall.
When I wait for the Lord, I put my hope in Him, so that He becomes my hope. My hope had been misplaced in my desires, and the Lord has replaced my desires with Himself. That’s what I’ve been waiting for!
Lord, please comfort my heart while I wait for You. I desire to hear Your voice, and I expect You to answer. Please strengthen my heart while I’m waiting and help my courage and my confidence in You build. May You be by Help and My Shield! Amen!
