WALKING AND WAITING

Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts (Isaiah 26:8).
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! (Isaiah 30:18)
My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm (Isaiah 51:5).
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him (Isaiah 64:4).
I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him” (Lamentations 3:24).
Walking and waiting. Waiting and walking. It seems that this is my existence on this earth…am I doomed to live like this continually? Let’s listen to see what God says about waiting:
When I’m waiting, I’m walking in the ways of your laws; therefore, I know I’m on the right path. If I’m walking, I’m not sitting still, but I’m doing something to fulfill the law of Your kingdom. I’m also not alone, as WE are waiting for You, and all our desires are focused on You.
When I’m waiting, I’m blessed by His grace! I’m actually waiting expectantly for God to rise up to show me compassion, for He is a God of justice. The compassion will come, and God will use this waiting period to comfort me with His grace.
I’m waiting for God’s righteousness, His salvation and His justice to come. And when I receive them, my hope will be fulfilled.
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
It’s a good thing to wait on the Lord. In fact, while I’m waiting, I learn a lot. Once my heart settles down over the anxiety that not getting my way brings, I realize that there is a purpose for my waiting.
God teaches me the most while I’m waiting. I learn valuable lessons about who He is (the Righteous One) and what He wants to give me: compassion and justice. All of a sudden all of my problems seem so small, and He seems so big.
Lord, You are a big, big God who wants to do righteous things through me. I desire for You to calm my heart. Help is on the way, and if I’m willing to wait for You to act instead of acting impulsively, I will be blessed beyond belief! Amen!
