Wednesday: GOD PERSONALLY SUPERINTENDS MY LIFE

Psalm 119:33-40

Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.

Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart.

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.

The Lord is my TEACHER. He teaches me His ways and His decrees. When I follow His Word, I show Him I have been a good student and learner of His ways.

The Lord is my PROVIDER. He gives me understanding. Without His understanding, I would not be able to keep His law and obey it with all my heart.

The Lord is my DIRECTOR. He directs my way in the path of His commands. I will only find delight where the Lord directs me.

The Lord is my GOD. He fulfills His promises to me, so I will revere Him.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS

If the Lord didn’t direct me, where would I be? I would be lost and confused, with my eyes thinking of worthless things. Instead, He preserves my life according to His Word.

If the Lord didn’t provide for me, where would I be? I would be living in shame, disgrace, and dread. Instead, He gives me eternal life and blessings.

If the Lord didn’t teach me, where would I be? I would be lost in the flesh, focused on selfish gain. Instead, He leads me in His ways and teaches me His laws.

If the Lord were not my God, where would I be? I would be lost in unrighteousness. Instead, He gives me His righteousness to preserve my life.

Lord, thank You for Your Word, Your laws, and Your decrees. Thank You for teaching me about Your ways. Thank You for preserving my life and providing for my needs. Thank You for directing me to love You as my Lord and my God. Amen.
