WHAT'S A PURE HEART, LORD?

Lord, can You show me what You mean by a pure heart? I want so badly to achieve this. My prayer is constantly for Your refreshing cleansing of the wounds I still have.
Psalm 51:10-13 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. I know if the Holy Spirit is within me, God is creating a pure heart in me. I so desire a pure, refined heart that will respond in obedience to God and worship Him as the Lord of my life. In the process, it comforts me to know that the Holy Spirit will restore to me the joy of God’s salvation. This joy surpasses my human understanding, and I can’t achieve it without God creating it inside my heart. Once my heart is filled with joy, God says He will grant me a willing spirit, which I need to sustain me. My spirit may be willing, but my will is weak. The Holy Spirit uplifts my spirit and guides me, so I surrender my will to God. I must learn this process, then I can teach others about the ways of the Lord. I cannot expect to teach others God’s ways if I have not learned them myself. THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: One way to uplift my spirit is to remind myself of the gospel every day. This remembrance brings a refreshing purity which showers me with forgiveness and humility. It also brings a refreshing joy that helps me to share God’s love with others. The gospel is simply this: God desires a relationship with me. My sin gets in the way of that relationship. God sent Jesus to die for my sin and rise showing He conquered sin and death. When I put my faith in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, God sends the Holy Spirit to guide my life and create in me a pure heart. Lord, thank You so much for caring about me! Please continue to refresh my heart daily with Your good news about Jesus! May you be blessed, Chaplain Wayne Ruckman
