Wednesday: WHERE DO I MEET THE LORD?

Lord, I desire to meet with You today, so You can comfort my heart. Fill my heart as I come into Your presence!

Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God,

for to you I pray. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong; you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, Lord, detest. But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.

I don’t need to wonder if God is listening. He is. Not only does He hear my voice, but He is waiting expectantly for me to talk with Him. The waiting goes both ways. I shouldn’t be surprised that He is waiting for me; I lay my requests before Him and wait expectantly on Him also.

Those who are arrogant want their own way; God is not pleased with their wickedness. Because they are deceived and wish to deceive others, they tell lies and destroy themselves and others. They are not welcome in God’s house; they will not bow down to Him.

God allows me into His house by His great love. I cannot help but revere God and bow down before Him; He is my King and my God.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS: Not only are the arrogant forbidden from entering the King’s house, but they cannot even get near it. Evil people are not welcome. The King’s house in this case is not a physical castle or even a church—it is where the Holy Spirit takes me to meet the Lord.

Those who haven’t met the King don’t know where He lives, they don’t understand His love, and they don’t hear His voice. It is only by His great love for me that He allows me to understand His love and visit Him daily.

On the days I get distracted and don’t meet with Him, I need to realize He is waiting for me. He’s waiting to hear my voice and hear the things that are on my heart. He cannot wait to hear me call Him my King, my God, and my Lord and express how much I trust in Him.

Through His grace I now have this opportunity. I used to be arrogant, not understanding His love. Lord, You have brought me into Your Kingdom; You have clothed me with Your grace. You have honored me by listening to my prayers. Thank You, Lord! Thank You, thank You, thank You.

May you be blessed,
