WHAT A POWERFUL WORD! (Friday)

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
We describe something that has life as living. This life is described as powerful and quick. The Word has the power to cut and pierce and is described as the sword of the Spirit in Ephesians 6:17.
The Word of God is used to divide my will and His life and can reveal the thoughts and intentions of my heart. The Word is used to shine a light into my innermost being and reveal the truth—what are my true intentions and motives? He sees right through me; nothing is hidden from His sight.
I know God knows everything—He knows me inside and out. He knows what I’m going to do before I do it. Galatians 4:9 says I am known by God. How does He know me so well? He created me, He formed my inward parts and knitted me together in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13).
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
Since the Word of God is full of life and power, I should read it all the time. When I read it, I want to absorb each word into my heart. Not only does the Word influence my thoughts and motives, but it fills me to such an extent that my actions change, so they reflect the mind and will of Jesus Christ.
The Word makes me confident in Jesus Christ; it allows me to know the hope of my eternal future begins the moment I believe and changes my heart to want to serve Him forever.
Each time I read His Precious Word, I come to the realization that I am reading the very Word of God…words that God said, words that Jesus spoke, words that the Holy Spirit inspired. The Word is so full of life, that it makes me want to live.
I want to share the Word with everyone, so they can experience the life and power that it brings. No matter whether you are sad, angry, anxious, or feeling depressed, the Word of God has the power to lift you up.
Lord, thank You for Your Word that You have given to the world. May Your Word echo in my heart and shout from my lips. Amen.
May you be blessed,
