What is Love? Love is the Color of Jesus' Blood

Romans 5:6-11
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
While God does right things in His timing, I also need to realize His timing is also right. Humanity needed a Savior; then, at just the right time, God sent His Son Jesus to die for the ungodly.
Jesus didn’t die for me because I was righteous; He died because I was unrighteous: I was ungodly and a sinner. He died to demonstrate God’s love for me. As a sinner, I was not only lost, but condemned to hell. I didn’t have any way to save myself from this dreaded place. God took the initiative—He loved me so much He desired to send His only Son to death to reconcile me to Him. Now that’s love!
THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS
Here are a few things I learn about God’s love from this passage:
My sin separated me from God; I was considered an enemy of God: While we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of His Son.
The color of God’s love is the same color as the blood of His Son: Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him.
While my salvation was given freely to me, Jesus paid my debt with His life. While we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
My job today is to boast in God, because His love has brought salvation for my soul. We also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Lord, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me, so I can live with You forever!
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
