What's New? A NEW WAY

Hebrews 10:19-25 

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God,  let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.   

The place that once was reserved only for priests has now opened through the blood of Jesus.  I can now enter the Most Holy Place through Jesus, since he is the great priest over the house of God. 

I can now draw near to God with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith.  I can now hold unswervingly to the hope I profess, because God is faithful.   I am called now to spur others on toward the love of Christ by meeting together and encouraging others.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS 

Jesus coming to earth opened up a whole new way for me to draw near to God.  I don’t have to rely on anyone else—not a priest, not a pastor—for me to draw near to God.  Jesus is the only One I need to draw near to God. 

Jesus has given me some action items that He wants me to do—to meet together so I can encourage others and so I can be encouraged by others.  He also wants me to hold unswervingly to the hope He brings, not because of my faithfulness, but because of His faithfulness to me. 

Now I can share the love of Jesus in full confidence of Him, as He shows me who He wants me to be.  Through Jesus, I am a new person, with new hope, for I have found a New Way. 

Lord, thank You for providing a new Way to draw near to You.  You are faithful to give me hope!  Amen
